If Wilson's pride were distilled, aged and bottled in Mexico it'd be called tequila. It was, however, distilled, aged and bottled in Canada after sourcing a fermented Agave product (Agave, Water, Yeast) from Mexico. Thirty-three % of the liquid was aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels for five months, which is where the fruitiness comes from. After that, it went into re-charred char #3 casks. The rest of the liquid was in once-used bourbon barrels for the full 20 months.
On the nose, we get a hint of sage and fresh-cut oak with ginger ale and lemon lime soda. After that, the palate delivers what the nose promises with added orange oils. The finish is more-ish with a lingering ginger finish.
