This unique whisky is composed of two carefully chosen casks, each contributing its distinct character: 98% of the blend comes from a Macaloney’s mix of malted and un-malted barley, aged in an ex-rye bourbon barrel. 2% is column-distilled rye from North West Pure Distillery, aged in a Kentucky bourbon barrel for three years, resting in a once-used Brazilian Amburana barrel with a medium toast, and spending four final months in a Jamaican rum barrel.
The mouthfeel is medium viscosity, mouthwatering, and slightly drying. The nose will entice you with notes of brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. The palate will develop with caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, dried cherry, wild honey and chocolate cake, and the finish will leave you with lingering notes of sourdough crusts, cinnamon and a hint of orange creamsicle.
